True Story and Picture
Contest!

- Three categories

A. "Unforgettable Dog Story," in honor of
"Adopt a Shelter Dog month." This is a chance to write
about dogs adopted from the Animal Shelter to help others get
homes. (Artwork to accompany the story is encouraged)
B. "Unforgettable Wildlife Encounter" . . .
from birds in your back yard to a beautiful turtle you saw on
the Wakulla River . . . any memorable wild encounter that adds
to everyone's appreciation of nature! (Artwork to accompany the
story is encouraged)
C. A drawing or painting (big and colorful is best!) about
domestic pets or wildlife that captures their beauty and their
importance in our lives.

- Rules
- Stories should be TRUE
and no longer than 250 words.
- Stories can be typed or written neatly in ink.
- Drawings or paintings can be on paper no larger than 9"
X 12."
- If the story includes artwork, paperclip the illustration to
the story.
- Please write student's name, grade, school and teacher on story
- Please write student's name, grade, school and teacher in PENCIL
on BACK of picture.
- Deadline for entries: November 30th
- Each student can send in one entry in each category.

Stories and illustrations
can either be sent or taken to:

- Winners
There will be 3 dog story
winners, 3 wildlife story winners and 3 artwork winners.
Winners will be announced during the first week in December.
Prizes
- All winning stories
and pictures will be published on the PAWS web site.
- All winning "Unforgettable Dog Stories" will receive
a Doggone Great
T-shirt and Pet note cards, and all winning "Unforgettable
Pet Stories"
will be displayed at the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service
Center.
- All winning "Unforgettable Wildlife Encounter Stories"
will receive a St. Francis Wildlife T-shirt and a set of Art
for Animals note cards, and stories will be published in Wildlife
Matters, St. Francis Wildlife's newsletter.
- - All winning artwork will receive
a set of notecards, a T-shirt and either be displayed at the
Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center or be published
in Wildlife Matters.
